    Located in the heart of Illinois' largest concentration of natural lakes, Chain O' Lakes State Park is a water-oriented recreation area with outstanding opportunities for boaters, anglers and skiers.

    The park borders three natural lakes - Grass, Marie and Nippersink - and the Fox River that connects the other seven lakes (Bluff, Fox, Pistakee, Channel, Petite, Catherine and Redhead) that make up the Chain. In addition, the park contains a 44-acre lake within its boundaries, Turner Lake. With nearly 6,500 acres of water and 488 miles of shoreline, Chain O' Lakes State Park is the heart of a water wonderland.

    Entrance gates will be locked from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am during summer hours and sunset to 8 am during winter hours.

    Sequoit Creek Park

    Opened in fall 2024, Sequoit Creek Park is the centerpiece of downtown Antioch. The park features a splash pad; accessible playground; public performance pavilion with seating to accomodate nearly 1,000; two firepits; and a concession area with bathrooms, complete with creekside aesthetics and open space for passive recreational activities.

    The project for Centennial Park’s playground started on May 13, 1992 when 2,030 volunteers showed up to build the playground piece by piece.  The park was dedicated on June 28, 1992 and also features a pavilion, picnic tables, tennis courts, baseball fields, restrooms, and open space.

    This 4.4 mini park opened in 1978 and remains a peaceful place for picnics, wedding photos and reflection. The park features a full-scale working model of the Buttrick’s original sawmill that was built in 1839 that once existed in town.
